Our children are not growing up in the same world that we did. Hiding and sheltering our children in our homes is not healthy. In the long run, it will not prepare them for life, and frankly, is just not an option. In this seminar, we will discuss ways that parents can teach their children situational awareness, self-reliance and other practical skills to better prepare them to become an asset to themselves, their families and their communities. As adults, we strive to be well-rounded. As parents, it is our responsibility to prepare our children and give them a head start. This can be done by incorporating games and activities that teach principles, while also strengthening relationships, building memories and having fun.

Different ages may need different techniques, but the principles are the same, and it is never too late to begin.

Lodestone Skills classes are designed as a 3-hour supplement to our normal Marksmanship and Combat Marksmanship classes, to provide an additional opportunity for training.  We have kept the round count limited to 150 rounds.  This is to ensure the opportunity to train while we are going through this ammo crunch.  The Skills classes will take the skills and concepts that you’ve already learned and reinforce them with additional repetition.  They also introduce additional skills and concepts that might not fit into a regular class but are valuable to your continued training.

Each class will be slightly different.  Instructors will change drills from class to class based on the ability of the students and their desire for learning.

Ballistic Shield Skills: Level One is targeted at students who are familiar with Ballistic Shields but may have had limited structured training before. It will help them build a solid foundation.  This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to refine their manipulation and utilization of a Ballistic Shield and prepares them to use a Shield in the defense of themselves and others.  Though primarily used with a Pistol, the use of Duty Rifles is also included with this class.

Dynamics of a Gunfight Series - Day One

The Dynamics of a Gunfight Series by Lodestone Training and Consulting bridges the gap between flat range classes and scenario-based Force on Force classes.  This series of classes breaks down a gunfight to its primitive form.  By using Airsoft guns in this setting, students will experience multiple repetitions against live opponents in each drill. Sometimes there is a fine line between fantasy camp and real training.  The Dynamics of a Gunfight Series was created and is taught by instructors who have won multiple gunfights and are sharing their real-world experiences with the students.  Basically, everything they wish they had known before the first bullet went past their head.

Day One is spent solely on pistol in an open environment.   This class will explore the 360* world, helping the student to break free from static range habits.  Movement will be your friend.  Students will be encouraged to move, to get off the X.  Pain will encourage them even more.  As the day progresses, there will be plenty of mistakes made. Students will be able to experience those mistakes and then immediately rest and try again, learning from each iteration.  This class will also explore one-on-two and one-on-three drills.

Students do not need to bring firearms, or extra kit.  All Airsoft guns and supporting equipment for them will be provided.  LTAC will also supply safety face masks.  You are free to bring your own if desired.  We do encourage that you bring gloves.

When the time comes for you to stand between life and death...the muscle memory will be there, and you’ll be ready to be the difference.

You will spend some time refreshing the fundamentals of the M.A.R.C.H. process and then move to hands-on interventions in field conditions. We will then integrate solo and buddy live-fire into the treatment process. Then we will bring it all together, incorporating live-fire drills including individual shooter, buddy movement, and small team tactics with simulated casualties incorporated. You will be able to manage your casualty throughout the phases of treatment.

Graduates of Lodestone Training and Consulting’s Tactical Medicine: Level One are invited to attend this advanced, field-based medical training.

When Tactical Medicine: Level One is held on the previous day, students will receive a discount when signing up for both classes.

This one-day course builds on the principles and concepts of the Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series and the Pistol Marksmanship Foundation Series.  In a fight, the decision transition to your secondary weapon should be smooth and instantaneous. We will spend the whole day working on the fine points of making this a reality.  By the end of the day you will know when and where to move from your primary to your secondary weapon as you accomplish your own individual shooter solution.

The day will start with a classroom discussion on the principles of using two weapon systems together. We will move to the range and do some fundamental drills for both systems.  We then introduce transition, covering the fine points.  We spend as much time explaining the why as we do the how.  We finish up with a series of drills that will push the student to the point of failure as they learn how to navigate their own personal shooter solution.  Just because your rifle goes dry does not mean the right answer is to automatically draw your pistol.  Just like the majority of our classes, we want you to be playing Chess while others are playing Checkers.

LTAC Pennsylvania Light Fighter Training Days
from $50.00

With the overwhelming success and increased interest of the LTAC Pennsylvania Light Fighter Challenge, we thought we’d help out a little bit by running a couple of “training days” in preparation.  The Light Fighter Challenge really is an individual gut check.  Where are you at in your personal growth and training?  This day is intended to answer your questions and help point you in the right direction.

You can register to attend Friday, Saturday, or both days. Primitive camping will be available onsite.

There will be a ruck course set up so you can do 4, 6, or 8 miles.  There will also be stations set up for you to practice — land navigation, fire-starting, ax-throwing, first-aid, and stalking (just to name a few).  These stations are set up for you to practice and prepare.  You can spend as much time as you need.  We will also be there to give you advice and pointers to help you master these skills.  This will include clinics on how to pack a ruck, how to wear your socks and boots, and general care of your feet.

Some topics will be covered and available to practice on both days. Other topics will be unique to each day.

You should bring your rifle to carry during your ruck, but there will be no live-fire practice on this day.

$275.00

The Pistol-Caliber Carbine Mastery Series lays the groundwork for what we teach at Lodestone Training and Consulting.  The courses provide an introduction to the 8 fundamentals of marksmanship and provide the student with a series of foundational drills to reinforce these fundamentals and ensure the student’s success.  These classes are paced to the student’s level of experience, so that no matter what skill level the student arrives with, the entire class succeeds.

The PCC Mastery Series of classes concentrates on the use of the pistol-caliber carbine.  The Day One course is designed to be run as a single, standalone class, with more advanced topics to be covered in the Day Two offering.

Day One is the beginning of your pathway to mastery of the pistol-caliber carbine.  It is targeted at students who are new to pistol-caliber carbines, and are looking for a solid foundation to build on.  It is also recommended for students who have rifle-caliber carbine experience, but are less experienced with pistol-caliber carbines.

This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to become familiar with the safe manipulation and utilization of a pistol-caliber carbine, as well as comparing and contrasting it to its rifle-caliber cousin.

The day consists of 2-3 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction.

There is a 30-60 minute lunch break each day, with lunch being provided by LTAC.

This course allows the shooter to go through some of the CTEs used by Lodestone. These Evaluations set a standard for the individual shooter to work towards and help track their progress. Too many try to cut corners when using a Shot Timer. They get sloppy in their desire to beat the clock or not be the last one. With help from the Shot Timer, it’s not a pass or fail, but a check on where you are at as a shooter. We’d rather you do it right, than fast and wrong. Speed will come from doing it right.

Each class will be slightly different.  Instructors will change drills from class to class based on the ability of the students and their desire for learning.

The CTEs tested in this class will be for Pistol. Each one will be explained and demonstrated. You will be given the freedom to work as long as desired for each one. Students will be given a Lodestone TAC CTE score sheet at class.

The Sixth Annual Pennsylvania Light Fighter Challenge is an opportunity for you to learn a little about yourself as you navigate a 10-plus mile course. We just don’t do hard things much anymore. In the spirit of all the Light Fighters that have gone on before us, we created this challenge. It is an opportunity to push yourself and grow. This year we will be switching things up a bit compared to the last few years.  The challenge starts at 7am with an approximately 8-mile march at your pace. Upon its completion, you will then have multiple stages to choose from to test yourself.   In the past stages have included shooting, land navigation, medical, axe-throwing, starting a fire for time and others. Based on your overall time and performance at the stages, you will earn an American Light Fighter Tab, or the coveted Pennsylvania Light Fighter Tab.

It is being held at Long Shot Ammo & Arms.

PLFC participants will have the option to arrive Friday afternoon/evening and camp onsite to be ready Saturday morning or arrive at 6:30 am Saturday morning. Long Shot also has RV hookups for those who would like this option.

This year, above and beyond the Challenge itself, this is also a chance to enjoy the fellowship of the Lodestone family.

If you are camping, bring everything with you that you will need for primitive camping.

Six-Day SFAUC Flat Range
$1,600.00

MPOETC CLEE ID: CLE02136 — 48 Hours

This six-day class is patterned after the Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Flat Range week. Having taught multiple room clearing and CQB, CQC courses, one of the major factors holding students back has been their lack of basic firearm-handling skills or using poor techniques. This consistently slows the pace down and is a liability to other teammates. This week is designed to teach and reinforce those necessary firearm-handling skills to be successful doing room clearing and other real-world situations.

Day One is heavily focused on Pistol. We start with a review of the basic principles of shooting a pistol.  It doesn’t matter who you are or your experience level, constantly going back to the basics is a must. We break down, in detail, the proper draw for being in a fight, and the all-importance of understanding “position 3”

Day Two follows with Rifle. We do a detailed explanation of rifle zero.  It is much too often rushed and not properly understood.  This is followed with basic rifle marksmanship and on to multiple targets.  Emphasis is placed on YOU being in charge, not your sights or optics.  It’s Eyes, Head, Body Gun, as you drive the gun to target.  It’s not scanning for a target through a glorified toilet paper tube.   Both days are presented with principles and techniques preparing you for a smooth transition to work with teammates and entering the house.

Day Three starts adding the real world into the mix.  We start working with Principles of movement, both while shooting and when you just need to get somewhere with a quickness.  We begin working transitioning between Rifle and Pistol.  This is not an automatic response, but instead a decision for an individual shooter solution.  Let them play checkers --  we are teaching you to play chess.  We finish the day by going late and use white light for both pistol and rifle low-light situations.

Day Four is more movement, mid-level skills drills, and the beginning of teamwork.  Communication with your teammates is key.  This is also another late night with the use of Night Vision Devices and lasers.   We will zero lasers, talking about different options and techniques.  Students will do drills both active and passive.

Day Five spends more time refining the individual shooter solution.  We do this through various drills and distance shooting, going out to 300 meters. The remainder of the day is spent getting more reps working with buddy teams.

Day Six is Critical Task Evaluations, skills tests, and a stress shoot.  Now that you have spent 5 days of hard training and refinement, we break out the pro-timers.  If we had pro-timers out all week, that would have been your focus instead of doing it right.  Now that you know what right is, it’s time to put on the polish and establish metrics for self-evaluation.   We finish with a stress test that incorporates the principles taught throughout the week.

This class has long days and a high round count. It will have very limited openings to ensure that students get the most out of the class. The class is taught by a veteran Special Forces soldier.

There is a 30-60-minute lunch break each day, with lunch being provided by LTAC.

The CTEs tested in this class will be for Rifle. Each one will be explained and demonstrated. You will be given the freedom to work as long as desired for each one. Students will be given a Lodestone TAC CTE score sheet at class.

The day consists of 3 hours of live-fire instruction.

Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series
from $285.00

The Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series lays the groundwork for what we teach at Lodestone Training and Consulting.  The courses provide an introduction to the 8 fundamentals of marksmanship and provide the student with a series of foundation drills to reinforce these fundamentals and ensure the student’s success.  These classes are paced to the student’s level of experience, so that no matter what skill level the student arrives with, the entire class succeeds.

The Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series of classes concentrates on the use of the rifle.  This course is designed to be run as three days, back-to-back.  But if time does not allow, the student can take it in individual days or two-day blocks.

Day One is the beginning of your pathway to mastery of the carbine/rifle platform.  The Rifle Marksmanship - Day One course is targeted at students who are new to rifles and are looking for a solid foundation to build on.  This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to become familiar with the safe manipulation and utilization of a carbine.  It prepares them to use a carbine in the defense of themselves and their family.
The day consists of 2-3 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction

Day Two of the Rifle Marksmanship course picks up where Day One left off.  It reviews some of the same material but at a much faster pace.  It is targeted at students who are familiar with rifles but may never have had structured training before and are looking for a solid foundation to build on.  This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to refine their manipulation and utilization of a rifle and prepares them to use a rifle in the defense of themselves and their family.
The day consists of 1-2 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction.

Day Three of Rifle Marksmanship concentrates on the analysis and resolution of rifle malfunctions.  It also expands on ambidextrous shooting and single-hand shooting in the event of injury.  The course, if taken as a standalone, is targeted at students who are experienced in the use of rifles, and are looking to advance their knowledge of malfunction causes and clearance.  This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to become familiar with the types of malfunctions typically experienced with a rifle, and how to resolve them.
The day consists of 1-2 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction.

The Lodestone Training and Consulting Austere Environment Survival Series will help you learn skills and techniques that could help save your life.  You never know when you might find yourself in a situation you hadn’t planned for and there is no help on the way.   Whether it’s primitive skills needed to survive in the wilderness, or techniques to maneuver in a non-permissive urban environment, this series will help you be prepared.  There are some things you can’t learn from a book or playing a video game, they have to be experienced.

The two-day Wilderness Skills class is an opportunity for you to learn firsthand if you and your 72-hour kit are ready. This class will start with a review of your kit/bug-out bag.  We will lay everything out and discuss pros and cons of the items.  After packing the kits back up, we will select a campsite and go over building shelters. Knives and other tools will be discussed and then you will build your own shelter, where you will be sleeping that night. That afternoon, students begin the first set of round-robin classes consisting of different basic wilderness survival skills.  After dinner, we will do a walk in the dark and discuss night movement. In the morning, we will have breakfast and then start the second round-robin of wilderness survival skills. After lunch, we will finish the classes and take a walk with your kit/bug-out bag.  You will see real fast if it was worth it to pack that kitchen sink.

This class is designed to go along with the 72-Hour Kit Seminar, but is not required.

NOTE: There is a discounted rate for families - select "Family" in the Participants dropdown.

Rifle Low Light - Day Two
from $300.00

The Rifle Low Light – Day Two class is a continuation for the student on learning how to using your Rifle in the dark.  This class is not just about shooting under low light conditions.  It is also about getting students experience with moving in the dark without the use of aids and then moving with Night Vision Devices. The students will shoot various drills, gaining experience and helping them along the path toward mastery.  This will be accomplished using both flashlights and night vision devices. This class will include different operations, such as working with a partner and maneuvering through the woods without the aid of light.  It will use a combination of paper, cardboard, and steel targets for the different drills.

Day Two: We will start with a review of the concepts taught in Day One.  Class will then shoot some drills while there is still light.  Students will move through various terrain in different light conditions both with and without use of Night Vision Devises.  After zeroing lasers, students will then do a series of drills under NODs.  Each student will be able to do a tracer fire.  Class will go beyond just simple familiarization of shooting with the aid of NODs and Lasers, there will be various types of dynamic drills and “jungle walks” through the woods.   Students will gain not only an understanding of how the night vision devises work, but gain confidence in working and operating at night with these tools.

The day will consist of about 1 hour of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction.

When Day One and Day Two are scheduled on consecutive days, slots for both classes can be purchased together at a discounted rate.

Small Unit Tactics Series: Basics of Patrolling

The Small Unit Tactics Series of classes are where we leave the flat range and begin working in the real world.  SUT is the model Lodestone Training and Consulting uses to teach principles of leadership.  In addition to learning techniques of SUT, the real growth comes from working as a group to overcome problems, experiencing the burden of leadership under stress, and pushing yourself more than you thought possible.   There are some things you can’t learn from a book or watching a TV show, they have to be experienced.  In this setting you learn as much from failure as you will from your successes.

This class teaches the basics of patrolling.  Students will first learn and practice individual movement in the woods.  We will then move into traveling as a group.  Communications will be taught, including hand and arm signals, verbal, and personal radio. Cadre will be leading the movements throughout the first day, teaching principles of leadership and patrolling.  The first night will conclude with establishing a patrol base and patrol base activities.

Day Two starts with a brief lesson on Land Navigation (it is highly recommended that you attend an LTAC Land Navigation seminar or workshop prior to attending, but not mandatory), then a leadership change from Cadre to Students. The morning will consist of student-led patrolling with danger areas and other obstacles.   The afternoon will be focused on various battle drills and more problems for students to overcome.  That evening there will be a night mission, followed by patrol base activities.

Day Three will begin with stand to.  It will be followed be a series of challenges led by the Students.  Each student will have an opportunity to be the overall Patrol leader during training.   The day will culminate with a live-fire exercise.

Each student will receive a copy of the LTAC SUT handbook.  This will be the book used by students and cadre throughout the course.  After enrolling, students will receive a detailed gear list and more information specific to the class.   This class is three days and two nights with little to no amenities.  Students will need to pack accordingly.

The aim of this class is to get you thinking about the things that may be holding you back from being armed and ready every day, and to discuss how to overcome those obstacles. You don’t plan on having a car accident, but you pay your insurance every month so you’ll be covered if you do. No one wants to be threatened or attacked, but you should be prepared for if it ever happens.

You’ve made the decision to carry a concealed weapon for protection. Now comes the hard part… choosing your pistol. Your pistol is YOUR pistol. It might not be the one your husband or boyfriend thinks you should get. It’s probably not the tiny, pink one that the old guy at the gun shop thinks is perfect for you because you’re a girl.

Your pistol is the one that works for your hands, your body, your concealment method, and your lifestyle. You need to be comfortable shooting and training with your pistol, as well as concealing it on a daily basis. Don’t let a pistol that is difficult for you to manipulate, shoot, or conceal comfortably keep you from being prepared to defend yourself or your loved ones.

'Response to an Organized Attack' Conference

For more info, and to register, click on the class title.

'Response to an Organized Attack' Conference
from $75.00

On October 7, 2023, coordinated attacks were carried out by Hamas and several other Palestinian militant groups. This series of armed incursions, from the Gaza Strip into the Gaza envelope of southern Israel, occurred during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.  Hamas militants breached the Gaza–Israel barrier, attacking military bases and massacring civilians in 21 communities. This well-planned attack, catching almost everyone by surprise, killed 1,195 people: 736 Israeli civilians (including 38 children), 79 foreign nationals, and 379 members of the security forces.

While there are plenty of differences between the environment in Isreal and the United States, there are far too many credible sources saying that terrorist cells are here and waiting for the word to strike.  Since these attacks, we have been asked non-stop for information and advice for what to do, or how to prepare. This day-long conference will be full of information and advice on how to prepare and respond if you are caught in a violent, coordinated attack.

It will be a perfect supplement to our other Mindset, Preparedness, and Austere Environment seminars and workshops. It will complement our ‘Prepare Like an ODA’ and other conferences held by LTAC in the past.  It is also a good time to meet up with old friends and meet other like-minded individuals.

This workshop starts at 9:30 am and we intend to finish up by 5 pm, but let’s be honest, we’ll be there as long as we keep discussing. The day will be broken up into roughly hour-long blocks of instruction with an hour-long break for lunch.  There will be light refreshments.

Home Defense Series - Part One
from $60.00

The Home Defense Series is a collection of presentations developed by Lodestone Training and Consulting to prepare you in the event of a home invasion.  There are definite steps one can take to harden their home and others to make it less of a target.  There is a time to stay put in a safe room and a time when you need to move to get to loved ones.    A home invasion is one of the most terrifying and dangerous events one can experience.  There is no way to know what the intent of those forcing themselves into your home may be.

Home Defense Series - Part One is designed to teach you how to properly search and clear your home, individually or with a partner (such as a husband and wife). Principles of weapons-handling and room-clearing will be the bulk of this seminar.  We will discuss when and why you should use speed and when you should be slow and methodical.  Proper use of flashlights and lasers will also be presented.  This seminar will empower you to be able to use the layout of your home to your advantage.  We strongly encourage couples to attend.
