The Wedge Enhanced (Wedge-E) was designed in collaboration with Lodestone Instructors, who have extensive backgrounds in various types of breaching, and TrueNorth Concepts. Having made extensive use of fireman’s wedges in forced entries, and finding the tool invaluable, its main shortcoming was that it would not stay put. This cost time in a crisis entry, especially as a single officer. The addition of serrations means that the Wedge-E stays put during forced entry. This greatly aids the ability to make a time-sensitive forced entry, especially as a single officer or firefighter.
