This workshop is designed to for you to push and test yourself further and harder than before.   We will be using over 5000 acres of forested land to get the most out of this training.  You must have completed  LTAC’s Land Navigation Series - Two-Day Basics Workshop or an equivalent prior to taking this workshop.

Day One, Evening: After everyone arrives, and sets up camp, we will review the principles of Land Navigation.  We will cover magnetic north, true north, and magnetic variation (declination). You will learn about terrain association.  Students will get an opportunity to check and confirm their pace count.  After covering these fundamentals, the class (as a group} will go through all the steps and find a point.  Then students will get some time to practice, individually. 

Students will need to have all their own individual camping equipment.  Students will be responsible for their own dinner.  LTAC personnel will be cooking over the fire, and you are invited to do so, as well.   After dinner you will be able to relax and make what last minute preparations for Day Two.

Day Two will start with rising at 0500.  LTAC cadre will transport the students from the camping site to their various start points. At 0600 students will launch to find their first point.  Upon reaching their 1st  point, students will be given the grid for their next point and so forth until finding their 4th point. All activity will stop at 1500.  

You will be walking approximately 20 kilometers during the day in various terrain, come prepared and dress appropriately.
