The Home Defense Series is a collection of presentations and workshops developed by Lodestone Training and Consulting to prepare you in the event of a home invasion. There are definite steps one can take to harden their home, and others to make it less of a target. There is a time to stay put in a safe room and a time when you need to move to get to loved ones.  A home invasion is one of the most terrifying and dangerous events one can experience.  There is no way to know what the intent of those forcing themselves into your home may be.

Home Defense Series – Rifle Workshop is designed to teach you how to properly search and clear your home, individually or with a partner (such as a husband and wife). Principles of weapons-handling and room-clearing with a rifle will be the bulk of this workshop.  We will discuss when and why you should use speed and when you should be slow and methodical.  Proper use of flashlights will also be presented.  This workshop will empower you to be able to use the layout of your home to your advantage.  We strongly encourage couples to attend.   

This class uses airsoft, sims, and UTM man-marking rounds. We will have all the protective equipment needed for the class. We will also have drop-in bolts for use in your AR-type Rifle to use the UTMs. That way you can use YOUR gun through the course of fire, getting the most out of the training.

Classroom topics include: 

1. Preparation
2. Clearing rooms
3. Hallways
4. Doors
5. Stairs
6. Single-person clearing
7. Working with a partner
8. Threat recognition
9. Force-on-Force exercises

 

These topics will be covered in a classroom environment, but with most of the time spent in the simulation lab.

LTAC will utilize proven instruction methods based on US Army Special Forces training and scenarios. The instruction will be led by US Army Special Forces instructors, and will consist of a “crawl, walk, run” type of instruction. Scenarios and Team-based exercises will be clearly and concisely communicated to participants, who will then run the scenarios in a dry-fire environment, followed by a Simunition and UTM-fire environment.

You will be given enough sims/UTM rounds for the class, but you will have the option onsite to purchase more if desired.

Note: This is a Force-on-Force class, so your clothing can be stained by the man-marking rounds. If you do not have a face shield, we will provide one for you to use in class.
