Convoy Operations Workshop
Convoy Operations Workshop
Sure, you think you know how to drive -- you do it almost every day. Now, how about traveling in a group with multiple vehicles? How do you get where you need to and not have a break or separation with your group? What are the Principles, Techniques, and Tips that can make your travel safer and more efficient? We have been asked these questions time and time again. This workshop is the answer.
Building on our experience of maneuvering with vehicles in combat zones, permissive and non-permissive environments, we have designed this workshop to pass along lessons learned. This workshop will cover aspects of planning, pre-travel, and post-travel. We will also work on development of SOPs such as the responsibilities of each individual inside the vehicles, actions to take when you are forced off your route, what to do if a vehicle goes down, keeping together, and vehicles working to support each other while traveling.
The workshop will finish with a practical exercise with students moving in small groups, following the principles learned.
