Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series
Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series
The Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series lays the groundwork for what we teach at Lodestone Training and Consulting. The courses provide an introduction to the 8 fundamentals of marksmanship and provide the student with a series of foundation drills to reinforce these fundamentals and ensure the student’s success. These classes are paced to the student’s level of experience, so that no matter what skill level the student arrives with, the entire class succeeds.
The Rifle Marksmanship Foundation Series of classes concentrates on the use of the rifle. This course is designed to be run as three days, back-to-back. But if time does not allow, the student can take it in individual days or two-day blocks.
Day One is the beginning of your pathway to mastery of the carbine/rifle platform. The Rifle Marksmanship - Day One course is targeted at students who are new to rifles and are looking for a solid foundation to build on. This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to become familiar with the safe manipulation and utilization of a carbine. It prepares them to use a carbine in the defense of themselves and their family.
The day consists of 2-3 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction
Day Two of the Rifle Marksmanship course picks up where Day One left off. It reviews some of the same material but at a much faster pace. It is targeted at students who are familiar with rifles but may never have had structured training before and are looking for a solid foundation to build on. This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to refine their manipulation and utilization of a rifle and prepares them to use a rifle in the defense of themselves and their family.
The day consists of 1-2 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction.
Day Three of Rifle Marksmanship concentrates on the analysis and resolution of rifle malfunctions. It also expands on ambidextrous shooting and single-hand shooting in the event of injury. The course, if taken as a standalone, is targeted at students who are experienced in the use of rifles, and are looking to advance their knowledge of malfunction causes and clearance. This class offers the perfect opportunity for the student to become familiar with the types of malfunctions typically experienced with a rifle, and how to resolve them.
The day consists of 1-2 hours of classroom instruction, followed by live-fire instruction.
There is a 30-60 minute lunch break each day, with lunch being provided by LTAC.
