Critical Task Evaluations
This one-day course allows the shooter to go through the primary CTEs used by Lodestone. These Evaluations set a standard for the individual shooter to work towards and help track their progress. Too many try to cut corners when using a Shot Timer. They get sloppy in their desire to beat the clock or not be the last one. With help from the Shot Timer, it’s not a pass or fail, but a check on where you are at as a shooter. We’d rather you do it right, than fast and wrong. Speed will come from doing it right.
The CTEs tested throughout the day will be for individual Rifle, individual Pistol, and then using both together. Each one will be explained and demonstrated. You will be given the freedom to work as long as desired for each one. This is also the day to be in full battle rattle, meaning, wear all your kit as you navigate each Critical Task. Students will be given the Lodestone TAC CTE score sheet at class.
There is a 30-60 minute lunch break each day, with lunch being provided by LTAC.
Class Details
Class Length: 1 day
Audience: Everyone
Prerequisites: Level One Rifle and Pistol classes, or equivalent
Suggested Gear:
1. Eye protection/Ear protection (preferably electronic)
2. Pants with a belt (sturdy belt highly recommended)
3. Rifle with 3 or more magazines
4. Quality sling (preferably two-point)
5. Pistol with 3 or more magazines
6. Outside the Waistband holster
7. Kit with magazine pouches for both systems
8. Cleaning kit
9. 300 rounds of rifle ammunition, 250 rounds of pistol ammunition
